Where We Are & How to Get Here

    Where Are We

Lysistrata is located in a perfect place, right in the middle of the large beach area that separates Potos and San Antonio.

Potos is known as one of the most cosmopolitan villages of Thassos with many cafes, tavernas and small souvenir shops keeping the village lively during the long summer days. It used to be a port of Theologos, an old Thassos capital 14 km away and a stunning mountain village you must visit.

Anything one might need during their holiday can be found in Potos –  boat, car and bike rental services, supermarkets, bakeries and pharmacies. If you are looking for an adventure, Potos has excellent water sports choices and specialised shops with diving and fishing equipment.

Lysistrata is only 50 meters away from the shopping stores, the restaurants and the nightlife of Potos.

Being so close to the centre of Potos while remaining peaceful and quiet is what makes Lysistrata Bungalows truly stand out. It almost feels as a village of its own!

Easy access to the heart of the village makes it a perfect choice for those who seek a quiet environment for their accommodation in Thassos, but don’t want to lose anything of the fun and vitality of the center.

    How to Get Here

You can get to Thassos by ferry boat either from the port of Kavala, or the port of Keramoti.

You reach the port of Kavala by bus from Thessaloniki, Athens or any other major north Greek city, or by your own vehicle, and then by ferry boat, you reach the port of Skala Prinos. From there, you head south and after 27 km you get to Potos.

The first entrance to Lysistrata Bungalows is located on the beach road and you will see it by turning right to the main crossroad, and then turn left at the second left turn. The second entrance leads to our parking and is located by turning right after you pass the main crossroad of Potos.

    About Thassos

Thassos is an island of crystal clear waters and lush greenery with amazing scenic mountainside and gorgeous beaches, both organized and secluded.

Inhabited since the stone age, it attracts thousands of tourists every year. Rich gold mines and marble quarries played a pivotal role in Thassos’ development throughout its long history. Because of this, the need for tourism as we know it today came a bit later to the island in comparison to other popular Greek holiday destinations.

This makes it still very authentic and comes as a great advantage for nature-lovers.  Nicknamed the Emerald Island for its vast forests of pine trees, it is an unpolished diamond with so many exciting places of untouched beauty to discover if you decide to go off the beaten track. Lysistrata Bungalows hosted many adventure seekers throughout the decades. We will be happy to help you organise your private excursions and activities around the island. Approach us to get recommendations on where to get genuine Thassos goods, such as olive oil, pine honey and traditional sweets.
